TAIGA Siberian Breed Club was founded in 1992 by the first importer of the Siberian cat into the USA from Russia by Elizabeth Terrell. The original Siberians were imported in 1990 and a breeding program began at Starpoint Cattery in Louisiana. TAIGA (named after the Russian forest) Breed Club has a membership across the US including Hawaii.
